Fried Rice

4-5 c. cooked rice
250 g. pork, sliced thinly
200 g. prawns or shrimps, shelled
1 small onion, diced finely
1 clove garlic, crushed finely
4 T. Soya bean oil or any cooking oil
2 T. sesame oil
2 c. mixed vegetables (sweet peas, diced carrots, corn kernels)
2 T. light soy sauce
1 T. beef stock powder
Salt and pepper
Chives or celery sliced finely for garnishing

Heat the Soya and sesame oil in a wok and fry the pork over medium heat for 2-3 minutes or until brown and set aside.
In the same wok fry garlic and onions and add prawns and vegetables and all the seasonings and keep on stirring.
When vegetables are almost cooked add the rice and mix well.
Season to taste and garnish with chives or any herbs that you like before serving.

Vary this recipe to make your fried rice as elaborate as you wish so it can be a meal on its own. For a different taste you can add sambal oelek or nasi goring mix and chili powder. Any left over roast meat or poultry or a combination of any two or three kinds of meat or seafood to have a combination fried rice.
