Dates and Apple Rolls

Dough:
500 g plain flour
3 tsp. instant dry yeast
2 Tbsp. white sugar
½ tsp. salt
2 Tbsp. margarine
1 egg. Lightly beaten
250 ml. water

Topping:
80 g margarine
125 g brown sugar
½ c chopped dates and apples
2 tsp. cinnamon

Sift flour in a bowl and add the rest of the ingredients for the dough and knead well and let stand and cover until double in bulk.
Roll dough with a rolling pin and flatten with hands and brushed margarine on dough and spread the topping and roll up lightly starting at long side.
Pinch the edges of dough to seal and continue rolling.
Cut rolls into 2.5 cm slices and arrange in the rectangular pan.
Cover and let rise in warm place for an hour or until double is size.
Sprinkle with brown sugar on top and bake for about 25 minutes or until golden brown.
