Beef Asado

1 k. beef, cut into serving pieces
2 cloves garlic, crushed
2 bay leaves
¼ c. vinegar
1 t. peppercorns
½ t. black pepper
1 t. salt
½ c. san Miguel beer
½ c. tomato sauce
2 medium sized onions, quartered
4 med. sized potatoes, quartered ½ t. black pepper
½ c. water
1-2 t. corn flour or rice flour mix in ¼ c. water for sauce

In a casserole dish cook the beef in medium heat with, salt, pepper, garlic, bay leaves, vinegar and pepper corns.
When the mixture is almost dry add the beer, tomato sauce, water andonions, and simmer in low heat until meat is almost tender.
Add potatoes, stirring occasionally until it is cooked, season to taste with salt and thickens with corn flour.
This is one of the old recipe from my mother and I still can remember how she taught me to prepare this dish and that was for our town fiesta and I was only 13 years old.
